Eruption of political unrest post Russian election

Russian election has been of a major political event in the month of February-march. There were huge expectations before this election as ex president Vladimir Putin was pitted against communist Gennady Zyuganov. With this March 4th election results coming out there has been results of huge problem regarding the election. The Political protests in Russia increased in huge numbers that started before the election and rattled the streets on Election Day. Post election the protests has not died down but only aggravated in its capacity. The later protests involve mainly direct protest against Putin after winning the election. It was generally believed that the protestors are being paid to protest the election procedure and its result.

The day of the election saw a huge protest from the opposition party of Putin.

They argued that the ex-KGB guy took unfair means to make sure he wins the election. The immediate effect was that people got engaged in after-poll conflicts and reports of violations continued to come in as the day passed by. The Russian president Mr. Medvedev asked Vladimir Putin who was the president twice before to the limelight. Putin accepted that and proposed Medvedev to be the next Prime Minister after his term gets over. The Political protests in Russia gained momentum focusing on the things that went out of proportions in the election. The government took more protections than ever before to secure the election procedure and for surveillance. But unfortunately, the reports of violence that came in surpassed the numbers ever recorded before in the presidential election. The anti- Putin camp has been protesting the United Russia party for spreading terror for the election and to get more votes caste in favour.

Putin secured about 63.64% of votes and about 100% of votes were counted while returning to Kremlin for the 3rd term. After the results has been out there started a new kind of protest by the anti-Putin camp. Police has arrested about 50 supporters who were picketing and rallying against president Putin. Top opposition leaders have also been arrested in these recent Political protests in Russia. They protested about the rumor that Putin received money from Washington in the run up to the election. Some latest reports has said that another number of protesters has been arrested on March 17th following their protest of Putins coming back to power and also the television airing of the said program.
